Our Roatan Adventure

October is for hiking!

I love October!  The weather is lovely and the colors are gorgeous.  We try to get out for a hike once a week this time of year.  Here are a couple photos from our recent adventures.

We found a rubbing post at Lionberger preserve. We love the Safari program! We have been to many new places because of it.

We like wide paths so we can walk (or run) together. This is also at Lionberger.

Thanks for sharing these lovely photos. You make the rest of us jealous that we weren’t on these hikes as well. I’m sure Lilly would love to have some rubbing post photos to help promote the Safari next year.

Hi Rachel! I seem to find something to comment about all the time, don’t I?

Jon and I lived at Lionbergers for several years when we were Ingrid’s age. The neighborhood is much more populated now with new houses nearby. The photo of the hike down the hill there is right about where I got tangled up with my skis, just like the pictures in storybooks with poles and skis every which way. We also went skating on 10 Mile Creek, down at the bottom there, and I felt just like Hans Brinker, traveling on skates.

I didn’t know you lived out at the Lionberger place! It is such a lovely piece of land with both ridges and valleys, meadows and woods, and the stream. We love going there and we’ll think of you next time we are there. We’ve never gone to ski in the winter, but I’m sure it’s fun – the hill could be a bit iffy for me. 🙂

I can see nobody needs to tell you to “take a hike”. 🙂
    The colors are beautiful!
