We started our homeschool routine at the end of August and we are easing into our daily rhythms. We enjoy learning at home but we also have lots of fun out and about. Sylvia is learning about Decorah and Winneshiek County so we’ve had a few field trips out exploring different parts of our county.

Most mornings start with a morning walk down our road to the next set of mailboxes. Sometimes babies come with us.

We like to make crafts and create art. Last week, we made birds with tissue paper and cardstock. Simple and pretty!

Exploring the northern part of the county…We went to South Pine Creek in search for a rubbing post for the Driftless Safari. We had never been here before and it was a beautiful place!

Exploring the southern part of the county…We took a field trip down to Spillville to visit the Bily Clock museum. It was fantastic! This old school house was on the museum grounds and we had fun imagining life at school 100 years ago.

Makes me want to go back to school! (Not really.) 🙂
